Alex Thayer, LDO, COT, ABOC, NCLEC Alex is a long time resident and is happy to bring the eye care profession back to Maynard. He has been Clinical Director of two ophthalmology practices, where he assisted on over 2000 cataract surgeries, performed over 8000 eye exams and started two contact lens practices. As a father of two young children, he is most excited about the clinical trial results of Corneal Refractive Therapy and their ramifications that may finally offer a treatment for the progression of childhood myopia.

Alex has a life-long passion for music and theater, received his M.F.A. in Acting from Florida State University, and has also worked as a professional drummer in Seattle, Washington. He can sometimes be found with other local musicians playing music downtown - and yes, he does play that guitar hanging on the wall of LOOK!

In 2010, Alex appeared in "Escanaba in Da Moonlight" at Acme theater, Maynard's award winning community theater.
Again this fall, Nov - Dec, 2013, in "Crimes of the Heart", another Acme Theater Production
